Selection Criteria

We consider the following criteria when assessing an organization:

Thoughtful and well-conceived proposals that clearly outline what issue(s) the project/organization will address and how.

Strong leadership with a track record of success and a proposal that explicitly articulates how the organization is accountable to the communities it seeks to serve.

Strategic and specific proposals that have the realistic potential to create a meaningful positive transformation for Muslims in the United States.

Potential of carrying out the proposed work, clear plan for obtaining additional funding if necessary, and partnerships necessary to maximize resources.

“With Pillars, it is certain that they are celebrating these projects that will lead us to better serve our responsibilities as American Muslims to one another as well as to our faith and ourselves.” — Joohi Tahir, Co-Founder & Executive Director  |  MUHSEN
